Gorgo – Vinyl & CD Design

The Gorgo Vinyl & CD Design project brings to life the legendary Estonian underground rock band Gorgo’s unique history. Originally formed in the mid-1980s, the band was interrupted by compulsory Soviet military service, scattering its members across different locations. Despite these challenges, their passion for music endured, resulting in the eventual revival of their music decades later.

The visual design draws inspiration from the band’s resilience and the raw, unfiltered spirit of their music. The Medusa-inspired imagery symbolizes both danger and beauty, a fitting tribute to Gorgo’s complex soundscape. Textures, shadows, and details echo the themes of struggle and triumph, merging classical myth with contemporary artistry.

The album’s visuals, including vinyls and CDs, reflect a cohesive visual identity that captures the band’s bold style and turbulent history. The project took a year to complete, involving meticulous design and artistic research to honor the band’s legacy. Featured in radio broadcasts like Tere Radio, this album is more than just music; it’s a testament to passion and persistence.
